DAS MOERISCH****s can now also celebrate receiving the prestigious “Bierkrone” award. The Bierkrone is awarded once per federal state jointly by the Brau Union and the publishers of the Gault Millau gourmet guide.
In addition to the variety of beers he offers, Sigi Moerisch likely earned extra points with his statement at the award ceremony: “Whether it’s champagne or beer—to us, they’re equally valuable!”—which earned him thunderous applause. “Why not order a glass of beer as an aperitif for a change? Beer is a fine beverage with a rich history. To serve it with a perfect head, everything has to be just right—from the pouring technique to hygiene, temperature, and glasses—and that’s standard practice here at our establishment.”
